Were there any friendly fire incidents involving American submarines, aircraft carriers, or battleships during World War II or World War I?

Oh yeah. These kinds of incidents are quite common even in modern war, let alone back then.

USS Pompano was mistakenly bombed by aircraft from USS Enterprise but managed to escape.

USS Tang pictured above, was an ace US submarine… until she literally sank herself with a circular running torpedo.

Why does my best friend call me ugly and act like she’s joking, but today she looked at me and said “I wouldn’t lie to you”? What should I say back to her?
